Survivors?

-
What are the fingertips’

connections to deeds?

I.E.D. blasted,

arms exploded,

radically slicing

amputating endings for

funerals unattended,

hamburgers on strings,

gauze sausages ballooning,

fingers shrinking,

flesh degloving,

scars webbing,

firmly re-grafting.

Once,

mind connected to pen.

Now,

it's, " Please,

pull up my pants,

socks,

shoelaces,

bottle caps,

and put my glass to my mouth."

  1. WOW.. fingertips connections to deeds?
I find new technologies rather frightening,
especially from the way you see it.

  2. A terrible price to yet be paid for in full. Time to end this bullshit madness and let them sink into their own insanity.

We have been diverted from remembering by this health care obfuscation.

  5. I've certainly never thought of my hands and fingertips to that extent. "Connections to deeds," what a great perspective.

  9. I can kind of see why you tried to nudge me away from your 55, but I had to come by to thank you for your kindness and caring. Great 55.

  11. This, so far, is my favorite this week. Absolutely wonderful, every line, but especially:
    "amputating endings for
    funerals unattended"

And the ending....so sad. With our medical advances soldiers rarely die in the field, they just come home maimed in body and mind.

Thank you for a great great flash 55.

  13. This conjured up a lot of thoughts about the sacrifices soldiers pay for their job. Great piece.
