I wear my loves
I wear my loves
Do not cry
Do not cry for me
I will not cry for you
I wear the sky as
opal on my skin
keep it shining
Do not cry
Do not cry for me
I will not cry for you
I wear the sunset’s
vermillion and ash
fleeting in my blush
Do not cry
Do not cry for me
I will not cry for you
I wear the fields’
lime-light carpet
walk in them
Do not cry
Do not cry for me
I will not cry for you
I wear the oaks’
writhing crackled bark
remember to touch them
Do not cry
Do not cry for me
I will not cry for you
I wear the grasses
Fuzzy tips of saffron
feel them in my hair
Do not cry
Do not cry for me
I will not cry for you
I carry music
in my fingers, toes and loins
hear it, touch it, feel it.

Oh, such gorgeous unusual images! Wonderful poem to share! that crackling oak bark...the lime-light grass, wearing the sky on your skin....
ReplyDeleteThere's no reading this Sunday, by the way. It's next Sunday in Morro Bay. A date?
nice verse...wonderful imagery...ok, off to hear you voice!
ReplyDeleteI really like this, Dianne. It has a pleasingly incantatory feel to it and sounds really effective read out loud.
ReplyDeleteListened to the whole podcast. Very well done by both you and Chris.
ReplyDeleteI like this piece very much Dianne and through the images my thought is I hope no one ever cries for me. why ruin such a beautiful face.
Very successful, it was well-conceived and it works well.
ReplyDeleteStark and real, enjoyed!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being pod-casted!
Smiles!
again, it makes me want to hear this as a song, such lovely rhythm of light and colour - and not very easy to forget, this image, my favourite one among other intense ones:
